What is pebax material?
Pebax® thermoplastic elastomers consist of polyamide and polyether backbone blocks. These specialty elastomers offer very low material density, a wide range of shore hardness values, extremely efficient energy return (over a wide temperature range) and are optionally biobased.
What is pebax used for?
Typical medical applications for Pebax® tubing include catheter shafts and variable stiffness catheters, balloons, dilators, and catheter tips.
What is pebax RNEW?
Description : Pebax® Rnew is the first bio-based TPE to offer no compromise on high performance. Its outstanding mechanical, physical and chemical properties offer significant flexibility in a wide range of applications. Pebax® Rnew enables to bridge the gap between thermoplastics and rubbers.
Is pebax a nylon 12?
Pebax is a copolymer of nylon 12 and a polyether. polyamide contributes to the thermoplastic behavior and forms the hard segments [7].
Is Pebax a plastic?
Pebax® is a range of plasticizer-free poly(ether-b-amide)s. Pebax® Rnew is a thermoplastic elastomer from renewable sources (up to 90% derived from castor), made up of block copolymers consisting of a sequence of polyamide 11 (PA 11) and polyether segments.
Is Pebax a TPU?
Pebax® 5533 SA 01 MED is a thermoplastic elastomer made of flexible polyether and rigid polyamide that may be considered the stiffest ‘mid-range’ polyether block amide in the portfolio.
What type of plastic is pebax?
thermoplastic elastomer
Pebax® is a range of plasticizer-free poly(ether-b-amide)s. Pebax® Rnew is a thermoplastic elastomer from renewable sources (up to 90% derived from castor), made up of block copolymers consisting of a sequence of polyamide 11 (PA 11) and polyether segments.
What is polyimide used for?
Polyimides offer excellent mechanical properties and thus find use in applications that demand rugged organic materials, e.g. They are available for use as plastics, films, laminating resins, insulating coatings and high temperature structural adhesives. Polyimides exist in two formats: thermosetting and thermoplastic.
What is a Pebax plate?
The shoe is packed with a ton of performance technology, like a carbon-fiber plate, but its new midsole made from a thermoplastic called Pebax, which yields cushioning that is not only lightweight and extremely soft but also exceptionally springy.
Is pebax a TPU?
Is Pebax a nylon?
Polyether block amides (PEBA) are plasticizer-free TPEs. The soft segment is the polyether and the hard segment is the polyamide (nylon). For example, Arkema Pebax® 33 series products are based on Nylon 12 (see Section 8.3) and polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) segments.
Does Pebax absorb water?
