What is Bonaseal?
Bonaseal® wood floor sealer is specially formulated for use with Bona Naturale®, Bona Traffic®, Bona Mega®, and Bona Strong™ finishes. Bonaseal® seals the wood, minimizes grain raise, provides a build layer, and prevents the finish from penetrating into the wood surface.
Does Bona Mega one require sealer?
THE BONA MEGA FINISH SYSTEM Apply a Bona sealer or Bona stain and 2 coats of Bona Mega ONE®. Follow label directions. Adding a third coat of Bona Mega ONE® is recommended in heavy-traffic commercial and residential areas.
Do you need bona sealer?
It’s important to note that you do not need to use a sealer when you use Bona DriFast Stain. Our stain formula will penetrate and seal the wood so it’s ready for a coat of finish.
How long does Bona sealer take to dry?
Bona waterborne products dry in 2-3 hours under ideal conditions. If you are applying the same product then it will be okay to do so once dried. If you are switching to a different product (finishes) then it is recommended to wait overnight, lightly abrade, vacuum then tack before applying the next Bona finish.
Is Bona sealer a polyurethane?
A fast drying, oil-modified sealer designed to penetrate and seal bare wood. Bona DriFast® Sealer is a quick drying, oil-modified polyurethane sanding sealer that’s designed to penetrate and seal bare wood.
What is side bonding?
Sidebonding typically occurs when certain waterborne finishes or sealers flow between the sides of boards and glues them together. When several boards are bonded together they form into one large slab or “panel” of wood. This is referred to as panelization.
What is the difference between Bona Mega and Bona Mega ONE?
What’s the difference between Bona Mega and Bona Mega One? Both Mega and Mega One are functional in their own right. But, Mega One provides an even more straightforward product that won’t amber later on. It is a clear finish that won’t give a dingy look to light colored floors.
Does Bona Mega yellow?
Bona Traffic remains clear for the life of the floor meaning it will not amber or turn yellow with time.
How many coats of Bona sealer do you need?
How many coats of finish should you use for Bona wood floor finish? A seal coat, plus two coats of finish is the minimum that is sufficient to coat the floor. This is will give your customer peace of mind that they won’t need another recoat for 10-15 years.
Which is better water or oil based polyurethane for hardwood floors?
Oil base poly is a thicker product, and will build up a thicker layer of protection for your hardwood floors. It is a great choice for longevity and high traffic areas. We generally recommend and apply 3 coats of oil based polyurethane. Water based finishes will lay out thinner, but are slightly harder than oil based.
