It’s not a treatise but a lark and a provocation — and a work of blatantly commercial theater.
Is Chicago musical explicit?
Violence is minimal, despite the play being based around a murder. One of the most interesting points to me was the 1920’s costumes, dancing, and overall style- which was, at points, extremely suggestive, near blatant. The sex scene at the start of the movie, I think, should have been shorter and less explicit.
