This chess opening setup is named after the Hungarian grandmaster Géza Maróczy. Against many of Black’s setups in the Sicilian Defense, the Maroczy Bind turns out to be an effective system in order to restrict Black’s activity. Therefore, it is a goop opening weapon to play against the Sicilian Defence.
