What is Micro-Mesh sandpaper?
Micro-Mesh® is a unique cushioned abrasive capable of giving very fine and very controlled scratch patterns. The grits range from 1500 to 12000. The 1500 is slightly coarser than a conventional 600 sandpaper, and the 12000 will leave scratch patterns that cannot be detected by the human eye.
Can you wet sand with Micro-Mesh?

How long does Micro-Mesh last?
If you only use it for paintwork, it may last indefinitely for a hobbyist. I received a Micromesh kit for use in my Aviation tech schooling, and that was 8 years ago.
What is Micro-Mesh made of?
Micro-Mesh is made with a flexible cloth backing, topped with a layer of especially formulated latex. Silicone carbide or aluminum oxide crystals are bonded with a flexible glue.
What is sanding mesh used for?
Sanding mesh, abrasive is bonded to a water resistant, open mesh which resists clogging during use, alternative to sandpaper type abrasives. Ideal for plaster, plasterboard and drywall finishing. Can be used both sides.
Is grit and mesh the same?
Mesh is a count of the number of evenly spaced openings in one square inch of a screen (i.e., screen size). Mesh is basically a specific size or dimension (see Mesh and Micron). Grit is generally defined as an angular media used to abrade or cut a work piece. Grit is a specified range of particles for a given product.
Is micro mesh reusable?
MICRO-MESH® is reusable! Use only 100% cotton flannel for wiping. Keep it clean, wash in warm soapy water, rinse, dry and return to the kit box.
How do you use micro mesh?
MICRO-MESH® can be used wet or dry. When using MICRO-MESH® dry, it can be “unloaded” by rapping against the palm of your hand. MICRO-MESH® can also be cleaned by using a stiff, short bristled brush. It may not be necessary to go through every grade of MICRO-MESH® to reach the desired finish.
How do you clean micro mesh?
To clean your Micro-mesh, it can be wiped off with a soft cloth, or it may be blown off with compressed air. For more thorough cleaning, Micro-mesh can be hand washed with dish washing soap or machine washed.
