What is a good first layer height?
If you would prefer the first layer to be squished, a value of -0.05mm will be a good start. For a layer height of 0.2mm, this will give about 25% squish. Another way to think of this is that 100% of your extrusion will be forced into a space that is 75% of the layer height.
How do I change the layer height in Slic3r?
In Slic3r, select “Print Settings”, “Layers and perimeters” and tweak the layer height. Easy Peasy.
How do you increase first layer of adhesion?
If your printer has a heated build platform, increasing the bed temperature might improve adhesion. We recommend increasing the bed temperature in 5-degree increments until you are able to print a perfect first layer.
What is variable layer height Slic3r?
Variable Layer Height Slic3r gives the ability to adjust the layer height along the Z axis. That is, parts of the model could be printed with a coarse layer height, for example vertical sections, and other parts could be printed with a finer layer height, for example sloping gradients where layering appears more pronounced.
How many layers can be combined in Slic3r?
Example: if Combine infillis set to 3, Slic3r will combine up to 3 infill layers, even if those layers are of different thickness. The number of combined layers will vary along the Z axis, depending on the local thickness of layers.

How many types of infill patterns does Slic3r offer?
Slic3r offers several infill patterns, four regular, and three more exotic flavours. The numbers given in brackets below each figure are a rough estimate of material used and time taken for a simple 20mm cube model2. Note that this is only indicative, as model complexity and other factors will affect time and material.
