What happens when you report someone on Twitter?
We will review the reported account and/or Tweet(s), and/or Direct Message(s). If we determine that the account, and/or Tweet(s), and/or Direct Message(s) are in violation of our policies, we will take action (ranging from a warning to permanently suspending the account).

- Navigate to the Tweet you’d like to report.
- Tap the icon located at the top of the Tweet.
- Select Report Tweet.
- If you select It’s abusive or harmful, we’ll ask you to provide additional information about the issue you’re reporting.
Can a person find out who reported them on Twitter?
There’s no way for somebody to tell that it was you who reported them – but they will know that their tweet was investigated, even if no action is taken.

It takes 3 clicks to report and block a spammer. I used a trial of Hibari to test this out. Right click on the offending tweet. Click “Report as Spam” button to confirm the spam report.

When a tracing a twitter account’s location, you will need to look at the locations of the tweets. The account you are monitoring must have geo location enabled on their twitter account. If geo tagging is available, you should be able to see the account location of the twitter user wherever they post.

Tweets can also be admitted as evidence if they promote violence, harassment, or abuse. If a Twitter uses threatens to harm another person, charges can be brought against them and their tweets can be used in court to prove their intentions.

Yes, all reports are kept anonymous. Any account or tweet that you report will not reveal information about who made the report. Likewise, if your account or content is reported, you will not know who submitted the report to Twitter.
