Do LA library cards expire?
Your library card expires every three years. To reactivate your card, call your local LA County Library location and verify your address and phone number. The next time you check out library materials you will be asked to show a valid ID.
How many times can you renew a book Lapl?
Most items may be renewed a maximum of three times. Reference materials may not be renewed nor items for which there are pending holds or reserves. Eligible items will be automatically renewed on the due date. You may also renew items over the Web by accessing Your Library Record or by phone: (888) 577- LAPL.
What is the difference between LA County Library and LA Public Library?
United States and those living in unincorporated areas resulting in a service area extending over 3,000 square miles (7,800 km2). LA County Library serves the surrounding regions to the city of Los Angeles, not be confused with the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) which serves areas within the city of Los Angeles.
How long do LA County Library cards last?
To get a library card, fill out an application and bring it to any LA County Library location along with a valid ID. Cards are valid for three years and can be renewed by calling or visiting a library. If your library card is lost or stolen, report it immediately.
Can I get a la library card online?
If you only want access to online resources, and are a resident of the City of Los Angeles, you can get an eCard online. Library cards are free for California residents.
How long can a book be borrowed?

Can two people share a library card on Libby?
Yes. If you’re using the Libby app, your ebooks will sync across devices when you sign in with the same library card or use a setup code to set up Libby on multiple devices.
