Does iPad support DTS?
NO ipad video player supports DTS or AC3… Not true. XBMC, RushPlayer+ (JB only) and VLC, CineXplayer (AppStore) all support DTS; and a lot more AC3.

What is the difference between AC3 and DTS?
DTS encoding has a higher bitrate than AC3 because it uses a different compression algorithm which is not as efficient as the compression algorithm invented by Dolby. By running it at a higher bitrate, they get comparable audio quality.
